Randy Z has been performing professionally for over 25 years playing for audiences from Key West, FL to Toronto, ONT. and from Denver, CO to Portland, ME.
He helped establish the acoustic guitar, singer/songwriter genre in Central PA., and has performed at most major acoustic venue’s in that region.
For 9 years, he was half of the nationally acclaimed Trop-Rock duo Tropical Soul, working and/or recording with Peter Mayer, Doyle Grisham, Tina Gullickson, Jim Mayer, Amy Lee and TC Mitchell of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. He has also performed and recorded with R. Scott Bryan of The Sheryl Crow Band.
Randy has opened for blues/folk artist’s John Hammond, Preston Reed, Rory Block, John Herald and also Southern Pacific that included member’s Keith Knudson and John Mcfee of the Doobie Brother’s and Stu Cook from the original Creedence Clearwater Revival Band.
His original songs have appeared in commercial videos for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society and The Department Natural Resources for the State of Minnesota among others.
In 2002, Randy, in Tropical Soul, opened for Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band in front of 4000+ Trop-Rock fans on Duval St. in Key West, FL.
He recorded 2 albums in Tropical Soul: No Plan’s at All and Come Hell or High Water and a solo album, Blue Island Soul. He is currently working on material for a new album.
Randy is now performing solo and playing an interesting and eclectic assortment of Americana styled originals and covers of Classic Rock, Country, Blues, Folk and Trop-Rock songs.
